Using Teen Peer Pressure to Take the Nomination

The brilliance of Bernie’s campaign to take the Democratic nomination away from an actual Democrat. His entire campaign is focused on turning out teens. He refers to it as a large or huge turnout. I’ve jokingly called him the Pied Piper of Vermont but today I’m offering up some research for those who have forgotten what it was like to be a teen. Those huge Bernie rallies we’ve been watching since he entered the race, they aren’t in the usual venues where candidates speak to the core of the Democratic Party. Instead, he speaks at High Schools and Colleges. He excites, much like his alter ego Trump, he excites the…

    No Girls Allowed

This is one incredible documentary. It tells the story of late 70’s and early 80’s girls looking to attend Philadelphia’s all boys, Central High, and the resistance they faced. Truly a must view for all feminists and a hopeful view for  millennial women. Watch the video on Vineo here FacebookTwitterReddit

    An Anthem for Hillary Clinton

Koko Taylor “I’m a Woman” written by Leiber/stoller. Koko Taylor and her band in Montreal, 1980. I think we need an anthem that pulls at the soul. An anthem that speaks to the innate powers of women.  An anthem that sets our woman candidate apart from the men. I heard Koko Taylor singing “I’m a Woman” on my car radio, BB King’s Bluesville Channel, had to pull over and make a note to listen later and get the complete lyrics. I was not disappointed. This is an amazing song, sung by an amazing woman who is no longer with us. She passed away in June of 2009. I’ll now let the lyrics…

    The Smart Kid Wins Debate

The so-called journalists only attack her and hold her to a much higher standard. She studies and prepares, so she has answers for everything and doesn’t have to stumble like Bernie did with Putin. You may not agree with her on everything, but you know there is solid thinking behind her decisions. Held to a higher standard, because she is a woman. Takes longer to tinkle because she is a woman. Has detailed answers for all issues, not just a couple, because she is a woman who studies and prepares. Cares deeply about women, girls and families because she is a woman. ‪ She is the girl in the front…

A Rant in Support of Hillary

Sometimes, the most thought provoking words come in the form of a stream of consciousness rant. On Facebook even! My old friend and colleague in the blog wars of elections past, Darlene Craviotto, stumbled into my chat with a member of my extended family. I had posted the H> photo taken at Hillary Manchester, NH and was being asked about Hillary and her platform. But, I was in the midst of a conference and had lousy WiFi so Darlene put into words so much of what we Hillary supporters are thinking. Herewith the text of Darlene’s rant for sanity. We begin with the original FB timeline.. ed ….. I think…
